There is a "for lease" sign in the window of Jamie's. No more white chocolate macadamia nut muffins. No more giant chocolate chip cookies. No more Jamie's. That makes me very sad. In the way that Madison Bagel closing made me feel sad. Why on earth can't State St. support a bakery? The baked items at Michelangelo's are very good (many are from La Brioche), but I remember a time when a cookie lover had to stand in line!

I used to buy cookies from Jaime's when I lived for the summer of 1986 on the corner of Langdon and Frances. Back then they were 65 cents and seemed expensive, but worth it. Faves of all time are/were M&M and the peanut butter chocolate chip. I'm sad too.
